Do You Think of Fun When You Think About Blogging?
More often than not, when we think of blogging, especially us “marketing” folks… we don’t think of blogging for fun. We usually think more about driving people to a page to either connect with us, buy from us, or join our business.
Do you realize that there is a whole other element of blogging that people who are looking for a “GOOD” hobby are missing out on? I like to call it Blogging For Fun.
Blogging for Fun has become a favorite past-time… a new “hobby” for lots of people today. It gives them an opportunity to share with their family and friends all kinds of wonderful things that are taking place in their lives. Things that many, otherwise, would never get to enjoy.
With the internet, blogging for fun can be a way to expand your horizon, reach out to more people, share information and get comments and responses back, that you’d never see without your blog.
So what are some of the things that people who blog for fun actually blog about? Here are some ides for you.
Blogging For The Family
Wouldn’t it be great if all the family members, regardless of where in the world they live, could go to a blog and see pictures of nieces and nephews as they’re growing up, birthday parties, the family reunion, the last big wedding, and oh my goodness… let’s not forget the grandchildren and your loved one’s overseas!
Blogging About The Birthday Party
I like this one mostly for the little one’s, but its great for the adults as well. Let me give you an example. Babies only have that “1st birthday” once in their lives. Yes, the others are once in a life-time too, but there’s something about that 1st one. How cool would it be to capture a video of that moment where they dig their little hands in the cake and smear it all over their face… Ummm… just the thought of my grandkids doing that brings a smile to my face.
Blogging About the Graduation Ceremony
You’ve worked hard for it. You’ve studied and now you’ve got the paper. It would be great to share that special moment with your friends who dropped out, right? No… just kidding. But it would be nice to have that piece of history to share with the young one’s in your life. Just one of those good ole’ shot in the arm that just seems to work.
Blogging About Your Wedding Plans
The things that could be added to a wedding blog are almost too numerous to list. One of the best things for this is to let your guests in on the fun and festivities of the planning. This is great for a Photo Blog. You can also use wedding blogs as a gift registry. You could have your entire honeymoon paid for as wedding gifts… and it can all be done online. Again… too much to mention. I’ll do a whole post on it later.

Get Discovered… (It’s happened before!)
I could go on forever! And I haven’t even tapped into all the fun games and apps that you can upload to your blog. People could actually hang out there for hours… just having fun. So, don’t ever think that blogs are just for us entrepreneurs.
